About us
ZEN Performance is a company founded upon the principles of giving you the customer what you need, suited to your budget, your aims and your individual car. We are equally at home on small routine jobs, as we are on complete/bespoke tuning services. We are a Subaru specialist and whilst the Subaru market keeps us endlessly busy, we can tune other Japanese marques too in particular Mitsubishi, thanks to our Ralliart technician Gareth and mapping experience of Paul.
ZEN Performance is built upon the engineering and motorpsort experience of Technical Director Paul Blamire. The team is completed by Tim Farmer a technician of 18 years experience, Gareth Pritchett a technician with 14 years experience, Sam Jones technical sales guru, Sam Eaton keen apprentice, Liz Blamire who keeps things running smoothly and Fred Walton, Motorspoprt Manager, keeping us on our toes in the Time Attack series.
ZEN grew out of and upon Paul's privateer tuning of his Subaru Legacy and then Subaru Impreza WRX RA. Thousands of development hours have been spent on the Impreza - the testing ground for many of the parts ZEN sells today. The ZEN 4-door Impreza led the 2007 UK Time Attack Pro-Series from start to finish and the new ZEN demo car currently being developed, is set to make a big impact in 2008.
Paul Blamire worked in mechanical and manufacturing systems engineering for 10 years; notably designing and consulting on the build of remotely operated under water vehicles, some of which were used to explore The Titanic, as well as leading a team in the design and manufacture of an eddy current engine dynamometer, used to test kart racing engines. Paul uses his engineering skills in the R&D side of ZEN, particularly in new product development and specification.
As a teenager Paul first became involved in motorsport; building, tuning and racing 100cc karts. Paul now builds, develops and runs the ZEN 750bhp 4 door demo car and new ZEN 2 door, wide body WRC-shelled Impreza in competitive events such as Time Attack and Ten of the Best.
Paul has extensive experience in engine management re-programming and his 'mapping' skills are well regarded throughout Europe.
Tim Farmer began an apprenticeship with Ford on leaving school, and over the last 18 years has worked at main dealerships and for small independents alike. His current hobby project is a a VW Camper Van which he is renovating and treating to Scooby power.
| Sam Jones has extensive experience in the tuning market and is your man on the phone and email for technical sales at ZEN. Sam spends far too much of his time on project 'Terd' a version 1 Impreza RA with a very trick engine.
Gareth Pritchett has worked as a vehicle technician for 14 years, most recently for Mitsubishi. Gareth has the 'Ralliart Advanced' qualification. Like all of us, Gareth is a car enthusiast - having sold his Impreza he is currently looking out for his next project.
Sam Eaton is an apprentice race mechanic, dividing his time between ZEN and the National College for Motorsport, Silverstone. Sam has a thing for Scooters and has been building and tuning them for years with his family.
Liz Blamire is responsible for administration and operations at ZEN - don't mess!
Fred Walton manages our motorsports endeavours: sponsorship, logisitics and communications. | |
